XSE-01 (Experimental Spaceship - Earth) UNSF Takeshiro is named in honor of the Japanese Edo period explorer and cartographer Matsuura Takeshiro. In the following Meiji period, he was considered the godparent of Hokkaido. This vessel was comissioned to travel, document, and hopefully establish a distant colony.
