I started up my save game and the ship automatically resumed its course but from where it was, it managed to put itself in a circular, stable orbit at ~314,000-315,000km.

AyJayAreDii 2026-05-12 22:39 UTC* Navagate to a systems object
* once at system wait a while for game to save then exit.
* Reload the game save.
* once loaded in, go strait to helm and turn on auto pilot , then turn on FTL.
* ship should start flying around the system oject like it is orbiting.
Tested on a star and it was like a stable orbit. tested in an ice giant and it was a very wabbaliy orbit, tested on a moon and did not create an issue. -
