About This Vessel
BriefStarship Profile: Jack O’Neill Designation: X-369 Jack O’Neill Class: O'Neill-class Exploration Cruiser (Modified) Affiliation: Tau’ri (Earth, MIdgard, Terra); Stargate Command Status: Deep Space Operations Exploration vessels are usually named after visionaries, scientists, or historical figures who definitely followed protocol. This one is not. The Jack O’Neill is named after Colonel later Brigadier General / Major General / Lieutenant General Jack O’Neill: the man who saved Earth, Milky Way galaxy and Ida galaxy more times than anyone can count, usually while questioning the plan, ignoring at least half the briefing, and somehow being right anyway. Originally a O'Neill-class battlecruiser, the ship has been reconfigured for deep-space exploration. Don’t worry - it still carries enough Asgard beam weapons and shielding to politely decline most hostile encounters. But its real upgrade lies in its curiosity factor: advanced long-range sensors, expanded science modules and the ability to investigate anything from Ancient ruins to “we have absolutely no idea what that is, but it’s probably important.” The Jack O’Neill specializes in the kind of missions that start with: “This is probably a bad idea…” …and end with: “…but it worked.” Her crew is a carefully selected mix of scientists, explorers, and personnel who are comfortable with plans that evolve mid-mission. Flexibility is key—because when you’re exploring regions even the Ancients didn’t fully map, things tend to get… interesting. “We’re not lost. We’re just… not where we planned to be.”
